La Salle-URL co-organizes the Second European Meeting Business Schools of CLADEA to bring AI closer to business management education

The campus brings together experts, leaders and representatives of academic and business institutions from Europe and Latin America

La Salle Campus Barcelona, a founding member of the Universitat Ramon Llull, is co-organising and hosting the Second European Meeting of Business Schools of the Consejo Latinomamericano de Escuelas de Negocios (CLADEA), a conference that seeks to connect cultures and bring together good practices in business education management for the development of leaders with an intercontinental perspective.

The meeting, entitled AI shaping innovation and entrepreneurship: “Shaping business management education for the sustainable transformation of society”, will be held on 3 and 4 April and will bring together experts and representatives from the main academic and business institutions in Europe and Latin America to participate in a series of conferences, workshops, dynamics and networking sessions.

The internationality and relevance of the event entails a top-level institutional presence, with the attendance of the President of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Salvador Illa i Roca; the Rector of the Universitat Ramon Llull, Josep A. Rom; the President of the European Universities Association (EUA), Josep Maria Garrell; the General Director of La Salle-URL, Josep M. Santos; the President of CLADEA, Mónica López; and the President of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, José Luis Bonet.

In a context in which the development of artificial intelligence is shaping a new era of profound changes, CLADEA and La Salle-URL bring together speakers with extensive experience to analyze how to apply AI in the field of business schools. Among the participants are Chris Kennett, Dean of the La Salle-URL International School of Commerce and Digital Economy; Gisela Veritier, President elect of CLADEA and General Director of ICDA, Business School of the Catholic University of Córdoba; Josep M. Piqué, Executive President of La Salle Technova, the innovation park of La Salle-URL; Xavier Vilasís, professor and researcher in AI at La Salle-URL; and Isabel Bellot, postgraduate professor at La Salle-URL.

The business sector will be very present at the congress, participating in conferences, networking sessions and providing its facilities for visits. In one of the round tables, representatives of leading companies will debate the ethical challenges of AI together with experts from the field of philosophy. Participating in this debate will be Andreu Vilamitjana, General Manager of Cisco Spain and Portugal; Antonio Alonso, President of the Spanish Association of Business Schools (AEEN); Alicia de Manuel Lozano, PhD in Philosophy and AI Strategy Expert at NTT Data; Francesc Torralba, professor at the Universitat Ramon Llull and professor at the Faculty of Philosophy La Salle-URL. The moderator will be Jordi Basté, journalist and presenter of the program ‘El Món a RAC1’.

CLADEA is an international network of higher education institutions and organizations dedicated to teaching and research in the field of administration, with 269 affiliated institutions from around the world. The celebration of the Second European Meeting of Business Schools on campus consolidates La Salle-URL as an international benchmark in the education and research of AI and its application to management and business, from a technological and humanistic perspective.
