The National Confederation of SMEs (CONPYMES) and La Salle Campus Barcelona, a founding member of the Universitat Ramon Llull, have signed a collaboration agreement to work together on academic, scientific, technological and cultural cooperation. Through this agreement, the campus will make available to CONPYMES members a whole framework of collaboration possibilities.
This agreement demonstrates the commitment of La Salle Campus Barcelona to SMEs and self-employed workers to transfer knowledge and technology to the business world and to society in general. This will be done through the management of a core of entrepreneurship, research, development and innovation.
Furthermore, this project seeks to strengthen the link between CONPYMES and the university, and to confirm the importance for small and medium-sized companies of advancing in the creation and consolidation of a scientific culture that encourages the transfer of knowledge and cooperation between the university and the company. For this reason, it is necessary to make university activities known to companies, and to implement instruments and incentives so that university researchers carry out projects with application in companies or facilitate their access to universities. In order for the university-company relationship to work properly, it is essential to achieve a relationship in both directions capable of promoting synergies with links that benefit universities, and that are also essential for growth and innovation in the business framework.
The signing of this agreement was attended by, on behalf of CONPYMES, its president, José María Torres García, and on behalf of La Salle Campus Barcelona, its general manager, Josep M. Santos.
According to José María Torres, president of CONPYMES: "This collaboration with La Salle Campus Barcelona offers our associates the opportunity to have direct access to the academic world and, through the transfer of their knowledge and technology, contribute to the promotion of business development and competitiveness." For his part, Josep M. Santos, general manager of La Salle Campus Barcelona, said: “At La Salle Campus Barcelona we believe in collaboration between universities, the business sector and the administration to produce innovation, to foster talent and to help the constant growth of professionals. With this agreement with CONPYMES we are taking another step towards positively impacting society, and specifically SMEs and the self-employed, an essential group for social development.”
